Acceptable Forms of Photo Identification

To verify an applicant's identity, we can only accept valid, U.S.-issued photo identification.

State-Issued

  • Driver's License

  • Identification (ID) Card

U.S. Territory-Issued

  • Driver's License

  • Identification (ID) Card

    • U.S. Territories include:

      • American Samoa

      • Guam

      • Northern Mariana Islands

      • Puerto Rico

      • U.S. Virgin Islands

Federal-Issued

  • U.S. Passport

  • U.S. Passport Card

  • U.S. Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)

  • U.S. Employment Authorization Card (EAD)

  • Nonimmigrant Visa

Important Reminder

⚠️ Temporary driver's licenses and temporary identification cards cannot be accepted. Applicants must provide a valid, permanent U.S.-issued photo ID that meets the requirements above.


Photo ID Requirements

All identification documents must be:

  • Issued by the United States

  • Valid (temporary IDs are not accepted)

  • Unexpired

  • In color

  • Undamaged (no cracks, chips, folds, punch holes, defacement, or other physical alterations)

  • Fully visible, with all information clearly legible


Foreign-Issued Identification

Foreign passports and other foreign-issued identity documents are not able to be accepted for identity verification.
